This is a more vulnerable post of mine, but I think it’s important for me to share.

Notes

little thoughts, as they come

Something that helps calm me during any spiral is my scented bear. I feel like it takes the focus away from my mind and back to my physical body, it really helps to ground me. Essential oils, cozy blankets and sensory toys are great options too!

The week before every one of my last few periods, I’ve woken up to a racing heart and racing thoughts, super intrusive and uncomfortable ones too, with no memory of a nightmare beforehand. Once my period ends, I don’t experience this at all. Can anyone else relate?

I used to seek reassurance so naturally that the people around me had no idea I was even doing it. I did it in a way that made me seem curious, rather than someone thinking “whatever you say next will shape the course of my mind.”

I’ve found that the more I speak about this and call it out, the easier it is for me to stop doing it!

A good night’s sleep is so important for both our minds and bodies. I highly recommend creating a nighttime ritual that makes you look forward to resting! I spend an unusually large portion of my day excited to climb into bed.

Female friendships are so beautiful and important! I haven’t been feeling like me the last few days, I went out for a coffee with a girlfriend of mine and came back with parts of myself I lost for a second.

Be mindful of what you’re subconsciously consuming! We take in so much without noticing, then question why we feel so on edge. Softer music with better frequencies and shows that don’t leave us feeling uncomfortable and anxious are the way forward.

OCD is the cheekiest disorder ever! Sometimes I find myself talking back and challenging it, and then I soon realise it just played me.

hellooo,

I'm Tyga

Originally from the UK, living in Mexico for over four years now. OCD took over a huge portion of my life at 15, and since then I've moved through many different subtypes, some far harder than others.

Recovery for me isn't about erasing OCD, it's about learning to live alongside it, and supporting other women while they do the same.

I created this space out of love, in hopes of giving other women a small light in their own tunnel to recovery. So whether you're struggling with OCD or any mental health challenge for that matter, I absolutely welcome you to subscribe.
